Diabetic retinopathy

null

Diabetic retinopathy consists of retinal damage occurring in the context of diabetes (called microangiopathy). The disease is asymptomatic in its early stages, with disturbance in vision frequently indicating advanced and irreversible damage. The diagnosis and screening are done via eye fundus examination and can be completed with fluorescence angiography. The eye fundus is part of the systematic review that any diabetic should do every year.
